Testimonials

PW from Bristol

I can warmly recommend Alexander Technique sessions with Jill. She is an excellent teacher, very patient, focused and helpful, and quick to work out what will be of greatest value to the client. She is a perceptive and sensitive listener who translates what she observes, as well as what the client tells her, into practical steps the client can introduce into their daily life in manageable chunks.

My main aims in starting to learn the Alexander Technique were to maximise my energy levels and improve my posture. It has helped with this and much more, affecting all areas of my life for the better. I had realised that I had probably got into some unhelpful postural habits at an early age but had not appreciated what they were in detail, nor how much they were affecting me. Through Jill’s clear explanations, I have found it fascinating as well as useful to explore how I can use my body better.

My sessions with Jill have been a worthwhile investment, setting the foundation for life–changing and life-long improvement. It is important to me to have a teacher who is not only thoroughly competent but can explain things in a way that I can understand and is pleasant to work with. I am very fortunate to have found Jill.

I came to Jill with a severe posture problem; she has helped me with the kind and patient use of the Alexander Technique, to achieve a much better posture. I am extremely grateful to her and would recommend her to anyone who has similar or other problems.

I have also found the Alexander Technique to be very helpful in the management of a very stressful period of my life. Applying the philosophy of the Technique that Jill has taught me has really helped me to cope.

Marina from Yatton

I have had Alexander technique lessons with Jill over many years, originally seeking her advice when I was suffering from quite intrusive back pain.  I have found the lessons enormously helpful.

I have learnt techniques for approaching everyday tasks from sitting at my desk to playing the flute, to driving, in a way which uses my body in a less stressful way.

The result has been that I now have significantly less back pain, and when I do experience it, I can usually now relate it to a particular activity, and can work through a way to do things slightly differently to avoid getting back pain again.

If I have got it wrong and am in discomfort, Jill can very often locate the source of the problem and through hands on work release the pain, resulting in a significant improvement.

More recently, Jill has worked with me on ways to use Alexander Technique to handle stressful situations more effectively, which I have found very effective.

Jill has played a significant part in maintaining my wellbeing and posture and I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending her.
